Cultural Heritage in Cebu

Casa Gorordo

Casa Gorordo Musuem of Cebu was the home of Juan Gorordo. The first Filipino bishop in Cebu.
At present, the museum houses has many old and ancient relics. The displayed relics give a picture about the lifestyle of the Filipino people during the period from 1860s to 1920s.

Old furniture and paintings are also displayed in this museum of Cebu. The courtyard of the museum is very beautiful. The museum premises are well maintained and beautified. I Choose Casa Gorordo to be Preserved more it's because it has a very significant place where in you will be able to see what the early Filipinos did in the past. I already gone to Casa Gorordo when I were in Grade 2, I still remember it because of my beautiful experiences that retain's on my mind. I really appreciated the place but not only the place but also the things inside in the museum. The house is nice and you could actually see the different things that they've been used in the past.

Cultural Heritage is defined as traditions, beliefs or a way of life practiced by group of people that are past on from generation to generation. For me, we can preserve this museum more through sharing it with others. For them to know more about our historical background. We must remember always those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it. In other words, we are here because of our ancestors. As time goes by, people today are sometimes forgot to reflect in their roots or where they came from. It is our burden to keep ou history remain in our lives for the next generation to come. Probably through our cultural heritage we could see our uniqueness to others.

Another thing is that preserving it by maintaining in a proper order and cleanliness as well. By introducing it to the children or shall we say by teaching them to our own cultural heritage. For them to gain knowledge to our history. The most important is to keep our past into our hearts and mind always. Never forget your past because the past is the one who mold you today.
